They can keep their hands to themselves.
Sen. Aquilino Pimentel said yesterday he will not allow the US Secret Service to frisk him when he enters the Batasan Pambansa complex to hear United States President George W. Bush address the joint session of Congress on Oct. 18.
“I will not allow myself to be frisked in the country by any of the American security,” Pimentel said at the weekly press forum at the Sulo Hotel.
With all due respect Senator—You have lost your mind. Even if it comes to pass (the U.S. Embassy denied the report) is it such an inconvience? Are you so prideful, or maybe it’s just arrogance. You should give U.S. Senator Levin (D. Mich.) a call. During a recent Congressional hearing he related how comforted he felt after being frisked by screeners at Detroit’s airport. This in his own Country, and home State. What do they say? “Pride comes before a fall” The election is around the corner Sir—Better watch your step.

Hey, hey, hey… Looking good! I’ll read your posts in a bit. Older girl and I still making flags for the United Nations Day school project.
Re : the frisking. I think it’s more of a sovereignty issue more than anything else. Although Pimentel’s remarks might be a little premature, it’s understandable for a senator to object to being subjected to frisking by security personnel of another country in his own country. Senator Levin was frisked in his own country.
It’s a diplomatic issue that might be addressed before the 18th, if Gloria has the brains and the guts to do it.
