Former GOP Congressman Bob Barr told reporters in Kansas City Saturday he is forming a presidential exploratory committee, and will make the final decision on whether for run for the Libertarian Party’s nomination before the Memorial Day weekend. Barr represented Georgia’s 7th congressional district from 1995-2003. Barr formally left the Republican Party in 2006.
Wasn’t April 1st a week ago?
Barr, now a life member of the Libertarian Party, serves on its National Committee. Not that it matters, the Libertarian Party has about as much of a chance at making a dent in presidential politics as Ron Paul did. Which amounts to zero, zilch, nadda!
Not to mention Barr was one of the leaders of the impeachment of President Bill Clinton. That should keep any wayward thinking Dems from crossing over.
And please, someone remind me, wasn’t this the very same Bob Barr that refused, albeit legally, to answer questions during a divorce proceeding about his alleged infidelity. Isn’t he the same Barr that claimed to be an “ardent abortion foe” yet had not protested his wife’s decision to have an abortion and had driven her to the clinic?
Yeah, I thought it was.
Lotsa luck Barr, you start out with more strikes against you than someone hitting below the Mendoza Line.
