So why does he continue to prove the obvious?
To anyone with 1/10 of one functioning brain cell knows with all certainty that John “F*ckin” Kerry, erstwhile presidential candidate, never has, doesn’t now, and never will hold any amount of respect for those men and women of our Armed Forces.
So it shouldn’t come as a surprise he believes those that comprise the U.S. Military today are undeserving praise and respect and if it weren’t for the “free ride” given to them by Uncle Sam they would be flippin’ burgers or pickin’ strawberries. A bunch of under-educated barbarians they are.
Kerry told the crowd at a political rally held at Pasadena City College to study hard and get an education — or else:
“You know, education, if you make the most of it, if you study hard and you do your homework, and you make an effort to be smart, uh, you, you can do well. If you don’t, you get stuck in Iraq.”
And in true Kerry fashion, as the Capt’n Ed notes, Kerry “insulted the troops before he lauded them,” by later saying it’s all Bush’s fault Kerry has diarrhea of the oral cavity:
“The White House’s attempt to distort my true statement is a remarkable testament to their abject failure in making America safe,” the Massachusetts senator said. “It’s a stunning statement about their willingness to reduce anything in America to raw politics.”
About two weeks ago I received an email from the official Kerry folks that that started with this paragraph:
I remember when I was back home from Vietnam and veterans were speaking out against the Vietnam war policy, someone yelled at the vets: “You should support the troops.” One of those veterans said simply: “Lady, we are the troops.”
So the question must be asked. If he believes today U.S. Military are dumber than a box of rocks and when he’s pimping for money he claims “we are the troops” what does that make Kerry?
The answer is obvious, a despicable, mean-spirited little man undeserving respect or the lofty position he currently holds both in the Senate and as a leader of the [Dim]ocrat Party.
UPDATE: At this point the best quote related to this story (so far, the blog-storm has only just begun) comes via an “unnamed Democratic Congressman, commenting to ABC News: “I guess Kerry wasn’t content blowing 2004, now he wants to blow 2006, too.” (H/T Kevin)
UPDATE II: Is it any surprise the Kerry story has made Al-Jazeera?
According to them “A Democratic congressional candidate in a close race in Iowa has cancelled a campaign event with Kerry, saying the senator’s comments were inappropriate.” Kerry has also canceled an appearance for a Democratic candidate in Minnesota.
I guess that will kill the Dem meme about Republicans running away from Bush.
They also claim, according to Kerry’s staff, he meant to say “Just ask President Bush”, which he omitted.
Ah-huh. Loves the Troops but thinks Bush is uneducated. Riiiiight. What a sack of manure! Someone needs to remind this dunderhead that Bush matched or exceeded Kerry’s grades in college.
