We all remember Hillary Clinton’s dead in the water Hillary Care proposal that surfaced briefly during Slick Willie’s first term in office. It sunk faster than the Titanic under a load of excessive governmental spending required to keep it afloat.

Never one to let an overblown government program die Hillary is resurrecting a new version of Hillary Care. In keeping with her new Oprah-like image of a softer, gentle presidential candidate who “cares” for you and yours she is requesting your opinion on health care.

Someone within her campaign is internet/digitally aware and asks via Yahoo Answers this question. “Based on your own family’s experience, what do you think we should do to improve health care in America?”

Go ahead, give her an earful, I did. In polite company my response would be called giving her the smackdown.

In less polite company I told her to shove her governmental financial sinkhole where the sun don’t shine. Or where Hubby Bill’s cigars went, whichever she, or Monica, prefers.

UPDATE: Laura Lee Donoho offers proof Hillary can’t carry a tune, she makes William Hung sound good, as well as being a potential financial disaster for the U.S. economy and federal budget.

Discount-mats is a Wisconsin based online store that sells and distributes mattresses and mats.

Army Sgt. Jason Hess, stationed in Taji, Iraq, sent a request to the company via email for some floor mats to ease life in one of Iraqs harshest areas.

The Sargent’s request was simple: “Do you ship to APO (military) addresses? I’m in the 1st Cavalry Division stationed in Iraq and we are trying to order some mats but we are looking for ships to APO first.”

As I said a simple request, and one military members always concern themselves with, because not all companies make plain in advertising if they ship via the APO\FPO system. Better to be safe and ask rather than order, wait, then receive a note saying, “sorry we don’t ship to military addresses.”

Sgt. Hess’s “reward” for thinking ahead and playing it safe (not to mention being honest, he could have omitted the ref to his location) was the following response from Discount-Mats.com:”

“SGT Hess,

We do not ship to APO addresses, and even if we did, we would NEVER ship to Iraq. If you were sensible, you and your troops would pull out of Iraq.

Bargain Suppliers
Discount-Mats.com”

As a retired member of the U.S. Navy I feel compelled to say on behalf of all my fellow brothers-in-arms, past and present: Fuck-off and Die!! SGT Hess is doing the job assigned and nothing more. If you assholes have a problem with policy contact the Commander-in-Chief and Congress who authorized the current conflict.

The report says the person responsible has been fired.

The company is registered to Faisal Khetani, an American Muslim of Pakistani descent.

Coincidence? Not relevant? I can’t say, only Khetani can but if I had one question for Khetani it would be: If the Sargent’s name was SGT. Mohamood al Bin al-Sheid would you have found a way to send the mats to Iraq?

I think I know the answer, but again I can’t be sure. And it appears that I won’t have the opportunity to ask, the site is unavailable and provides this notice:

Discount-Mats.com is Experiencing Technical Difficulties…
If you are inquiring about your order, please contact us via phone or email.
Thank you for your understanding & patience.

Note the absence of a phone number or email addy. Obviously this is directed at previous customers, who would have them on any invoices on file, and not those that are so mad at this despicable act they could piss nails!

There is a happy ending however, SGT. Hess emailed that he has since found two mat suppliers willing to ship to an APO address in Iraq.

If asked cold what someone thought the fastest growing American industry was they more than likely would answer something in the service sector or electronics related.

While reading the New Zealand Herald’s take on the Hillary announcement I had another thought on the matter.

The fastest growing segment of the U.S. economy must be presidential exploratory committees. What are there now, fifty or so? More? I’m not sure at this point, I’ve lost count.

It also makes me wonder who’s more delusional, the bugeyed “singers” on American Idol or the likes of Dennis “Peace Department” Kucinich or RINO Brownback? (not to mention Vilsack)

Also of note the Herald allows comments on their stories and a couple caught my eye attached to the Hillary story.

KCShe could not control Bills wondering eye so how does she think she will be able to control the most powerful nation in the world? Condoleeza Rice would make a far better President and being an Afro-American she would appeal to more of the PC and minority groups.

And my favorite. ToheroaHillary WAS the president before and she can do it again!

Poisonous Pelosi

Nancy Pelosi once again goes beyond the pale.

WASHINGTON (AP) — House Speaker Nancy Pelosi contended Friday that President Bush is rushing new troops to Iraq and betting that Congress won’t cut off funds once they’re in battle. The White House called her assertion “poisonous.”

In an exchange of harsh rhetoric that underscored the intensity of the political fight, Pelosi, D-Calif., said the war should not be “an obligation of the American people in perpetuity.”

“The president knows that because the troops are in harm’s way, that we won’t cut off the resources. That’s why he’s moving so quickly to put them in harm’s way,” Pelosi said on ABC’s “Good Morning America.”

This woman is positively nuts!

It was just a few weeks ago the [Dim]ocrats line was Bush was acting too slowly after receiving the recommendations of the Iraq Study Group.

Now he’s acting without haste, allegedly, just to place the [Dim]ocrats in the untenable position of cutting funds while troops are under fire.

What a craven despicable bitch!

A Quote Worth Remembering

“After a little resistance [in Somalia], The American troops left after achieving nothing. They left after claiming that they were the largest power on earth. They left after some resistance from powerless, poor, unarmed people whose only weapon is the belief in Allah The Almighty, and who do not fear the fabricated American media lies.

We learned from those who fought there, that they were surprised to see the low spiritual morale of the American fighters in comparison with the experience they had with the Russian fighters. The Americans ran away from those fighters who fought and killed them, while the latter were still there.

If the U.S. still thinks and brags that it still has this kind of power even after all these successive defeats in Vietnam, Beirut, Aden, and Somalia, then let them go back to those who are awaiting its return. “Osama Bin Laden Interview with Peter Arnett Late March 1997

Maybe Fat Boy Kennedy should be reminded of it.

How else to describe this other than political grandstanding while making a sorry attempt to look “tough” on terror.

Anti-terror legislation sped toward passage in the House on Tuesday, the first in a string of measures designed to fulfill campaign promises made by Democrats last fall.

Patterned on recommendations of the commission that investigated the Sept. 11 attacks, the far-reaching measure includes commitments for inspection of all cargo carried aboard passenger aircraft and on ships bound for the United States.

“Our first and highest duty as members of this Congress is to protect the American people, to defend our homeland and to strengthen our national security,” said Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (news, bio, voting record), D-Md.

Ah-huh, and how are you going to do that Steny? Just how will this bill “defend” anything?

It not only fails to fund the program but doesn’t give the slightest hint of how it’s cost will be recovered by saving from other areas of the budget. Guess Hoyer forgot about that Pelosi pledge to her “PayGo” program (Also a 100 hour initiative). PayGo mandates that any new items added to the budget must be “paid for” by reductions elsewhere.

So where are they Hoyer? Where are the cuts?

What’s that… I thought so. Nothing but crickets chirping.

And more political posturing and wasted time on a bill that will never pass the Senate.

That’s Nancy Pelosi.

At least she claims so as she took the reigns of the [Dim]ocrat led House of Representatives. The only thing missing was a Dr. Dean-like scream. That was saved for the members of the MSM who collectively burst out adoringly: “NAAAAAAAAAANCY!!!!”

Meanwhile some of the saner portions of the MSM were pointing to a story from reporter Matt Smith of the San Francisco Weekly who has anointed the new House Majority Leader as Porkmistress Pelosi.

Smith notes in the lead-up to the November elections Pelosi announced “plans to open the 110th Congress with a rule publicly “outing” lawmakers who use legislative “earmarks” to help special interests.”

Strange that. And hypocritical.

Before she wielded power as the “most powerful woman in America” she championed a pork-fest of epic proportions that surpassed even Alaska’s Ted Steven’s Bridge to Nowhere and Trent Lott’s Railroad to Nowhere in the amount of government waste.

Porkmistress Pelosi’s pet project contains $1.2 billion worth of earmarks for a Subway to Nowhere connecting the Giants ballpark with downtown San Francisco.

In a report issued by an independent consultant hired by the Municipal Transportation Authority to evaluate the Central Subway project took great exception to both the amount of money to be spent but also the viability of the project as a whole:

“According to consultant Tom Matoff, San Franciscans will get little in return for this massive federal expenditure. The Central Subway project will not significantly improve our ability to get from one place to another, and it will make the city’s public transportation system more expensive to run and maintain. In addition, its rationale is based on bogus financing and ridership numbers.

“If built as planned, the Central Subway ‘might actually worsen travel conditions for some customers, without a compensating improvement,’ Matoff wrote. ‘It does not, apparently, meet the market needs of the corridor it is intended to serve.’

“Pelosi has already secured ‘cost-effectiveness’ exemptions in the 2005 federal transportation bill to smooth the way for what is expected to be $532 million in federal grants to fund the Central Subway.

“Meanwhile, S.F. Municipal Transportation Agency chief Nat Ford has, during recent weeks, been making the rounds in Washington, stumping for around $200 million more needed to fund the project.”

Matt Smith concludes his article by asking the question of whether Pelosi will lead a reinvigoration of the Democratic Party or turn Democrats into laughingstock pork-barrel hypocrites from day one.

And I’ll conclude by saying that question has an obvious answer doesn’t it?
