The Goreacle Prophet of Global Warming, a/k/a Al Gore, has run smack into another embarrassing part of his past.
One he never bought any carbon credits for.
Gore received more than $500,000 in royalties from the owners of zinc mines who held mineral leases on his farm near Carthage, Tennessee.
Before the mines closed in 2003, they emitted thousands of pounds of toxic substances and several times, the water discharged from the mines into nearby rivers had levels of toxins above what was legal.
Zinc is used in a process called galvanization and is widely used world-wide as a coating for steel and can be found in abundence in products such as nails and wire.
The ultimate irony is most if not all the steel bodies on all cars, including hybrids, are galvanized to resist rust damage.
