“The Iraqi Perspectives Project — Saddam and Terrorism: Emerging Insights from Captured Iraqi Documents.”

Saddam supported groups that either associated directly with al-Qaeda (such as the Egyptian Islamic Jihad, led at one time by bin Laden’s deputy, Ayman al-Zawahiri) or that generally shared al-Qaeda’s stated goals and objectives.

Captured documents reveal that the regime was willing to co-opt or support organizations it knew to be part of al-Qaeda — as long as that organization’s near-term goals supported Saddam’s long-term vision.

Huh!

According to Pinoy Spy Reporter Playboy is to launch a Philippine edition of the iconic mens magazine.

What’s the catch, and joke of the day you ask?

Call the Philippine’s version Playboy Lite, it will contain no nudity says Playboy Philippines editor Beting Laygo Dolor. “No, Playboy Philippines will not be more daring than FHM,” he says. “We will be adjusted to the local culture and sensibilities.”

BUWAHAHAHAHA!

What marketing “genius” thought this up?

Both FHM Philippines and Maxim Philippines offer nudity that can be seen in the checkout aisle at the local Handyman Hardware & WalterMart outlets among other places.

And it has to be said “local culture and sensibilities” include the Sex Bomb Dancers that shake their hardly covered asses daily on the Eat Bulaga! game show.

Philippines Playboy Lite… BUWAHAHAHAHA!

Unless Obama can come up with something that tops this endorsement I’d say she has the Pennsylvania primary wrapped up.

BTW, the sound you hear are my brains slowing dripping out of my ears.

Well, I guess this settles it then; Researchers at Harvard say that publicly voiced doubts about the U.S. occupation of Iraq have a measurable “emboldenment effect” on insurgents there.

Periods of intense news media coverage in the United States of criticism about the war, or of polling about public opinion on the conflict, are followed by a small but quantifiable increases in the number of attacks on civilians and U.S. forces in Iraq, according to a study by Radha Iyengar, a Robert Wood Johnson Scholar in health policy research at Harvard and Jonathan Monten of the Belfer Center at the university’s Kennedy School of Government.

The increase in attacks is more pronounced in areas of Iraq that have better access to international news media, the authors conclude in a report titled “Is There an ‘Emboldenment’ Effect? Evidence from the Insurgency in Iraq.”

D’OH!

That conclusion is patently obvious. To most sane rational thinkers. Which discounts any possibility Murtha, Durbin, Shillary, Reid or Pelosi will ever come to the same conclusion.

Despicable prick Murtha, or should I say Flying Pig Murtha, campaigned with Shillary Clinton for the first time Monday evening and explained why his presidential pick is Shillary.

“Let me tell you something,” Murtha said, taking the microphone from Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell. “I have served with seven presidents, and they all got gray hair except for Reagan. Anybody that’s been in the White House for eight years knows how tough it is, understands, has the experience that you need to be president of the United States.”

Well, if that’s the criteria, you have to have your hair turn gray, what does that say about Shillary’s 8 years in the While House?

Does it mean she didn’t do what she claims while in the WH and produces more Fairy Tails than the Grimm Brothers? Or does it mean her hair color is as fake as her persona?

That aside, it would also seem to be, in a sideways look at it, an endorsement for McCain. His hair is already gray

Some scientists think biofuels’ carbon benefits may be currently outweighed by negative effects from their production.

Gee, where have I heard something similar? Oh from Europe’s Environment Commissioner Stavros Dimas.

According to Professor Robert Watson the EU should await the results of their inquiry into biofuels’ sustainability.

Professor Robert Watson warned that it would be insane if the RTFO had the opposite effects of the ones intended.

He said biofuels policy in the EU and the UK may have run ahead of the science. (What science! – ed)

His comments in an interview with BBC Radio 4’s Today program appear on the day when a coalition of pressure groups from Oxfam to Greenpeace writes to the Department for Transport (DfT) demanding that the policy be delayed until after the review.

Earth is hotting upJust how is this possible?

The Australian has found fundamental errors in NASA computer models data.

Last Monday – on ABC Radio National, of all places – there was a tipping point of a different kind in the debate on climate change. It was a remarkable interview involving the co-host of Counterpoint, Michael Duffy and Jennifer Marohasy, a biologist and senior fellow of Melbourne-based think tank the Institute of Public Affairs. Anyone in public life who takes a position on the greenhouse gas hypothesis will ignore it at their peril.

Duffy asked Marohasy: “Is the Earth stillwarming?”

She replied: “No, actually, there has been cooling, if you take 1998 as your point of reference. If you take 2002 as your point of reference, then temperatures have plateaued. This is certainly not what you’d expect if carbon dioxide is driving temperature because carbon dioxide levels have been increasing but temperatures have actually been coming down over the last 10 years.”

Duffy: “Is this a matter of any controversy?”

Marohasy: “Actually, no. The head of the IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) has actually acknowledged it. He talks about the apparent plateau in temperatures so far this century. So he recognises that in this century, over the past eight years, temperatures have plateaued … This is not what you’d expect, as I said, because if carbon dioxide is driving temperature then you’d expect that, given carbon dioxide levels have been continuing to increase, temperatures should be going up … So (it’s) very unexpected, not something that’s being discussed. It should be being discussed, though, because it’s very significant.” …

Duffy: “Can you tell us about NASA’s Aqua satellite, because I understand some of the data we’re now getting is quite important in our understanding of how climate works?”

Marohasy: “That’s right. The satellite was only launched in 2002 and it enabled the collection of data, not just on temperature but also on cloud formation and water vapour. What all the climate models suggest is that, when you’ve got warming from additional carbon dioxide, this will result in increased water vapour, so you’re going to get a positive feedback. That’s what the models have been indicating. What this great data from the NASA Aqua satellite … (is) actually showing is just the opposite, that with a little bit of warming, weather processes are compensating, so they’re actually limiting the greenhouse effect and you’re getting a negative rather than a positive feedback.”

Duffy: “The climate is actually, in one way anyway, more robust than was assumed in the climate models?”

Marohasy: “That’s right … These findings actually aren’t being disputed by the meteorological community. They’re having trouble digesting the findings, they’re acknowledging the findings, they’re acknowledging that the data from NASA’s Aqua satellite is not how the models predict, and I think they’re about to recognize that the models really do need to be overhauled and that when they are overhauled they will probably show greatly reduced future warming projected as a consequence of carbon dioxide.”

Damn… if you can’t trust a computer (or NASA aqua satellites), just who… umm, nevermind, it is garbage in garbage out afterall.

It’s becoming more obvious with each passing day the religion that is Global Warming is just as wacky as those practiced by Madonna and the Tom Cruise.

zara_adams.jpgSo, the obvious question is, when will the streets run crazy with Muslim extremists over Zara Adams hoping to be the first ever Muslim Bond girl?

Adams, who recently launched her new publication, the Talent Magazine, is auditioning for the part for the upcoming Bond movie “Quantum of Solace”.

“The casting agent and the producers liked my pictures and other work and have invited me for audition,” Zara said.

“I don’t know too much about the part at the moment, but it is a good character role as one of the Bond girls with about 15-20 minutes of screen time.

“Working with names like Marc Foster and Daniel Craig, among others, will be an amazing experience,” she added.

Zara knows that while landing the role will be a major breakthrough for a Muslim actress, it will also upset her parents.

The single 25-year-old, who recently launched The Talent Magazine, revealed: “I had a strict upbringing and I didn’t even see my first movie until I was at university in Edinburgh, which funnily enough was a Bond film.

“I am getting a lot of support from my friends who are extremely excited about this but my parents aren’t really happy about me auditioning for this part.

“But I believe you have to choose your own path in life. “And if I’m happy, eventually they’ll come round to it as they always do.”

Some 3,000 scientific robots that are plying the ocean have sent home a puzzling message. These diving instruments suggest that the oceans have not warmed up at all over the past four or five years. That could mean global warming has taken a breather. Or it could mean scientists aren’t quite understanding what their robots are telling them.

Or it could mean the Global Warming Religion was bunk from the very start.

“There has been a very slight cooling, but not anything really significant,” Willis says. So the buildup of heat on Earth may be on a brief hiatus. “Global warming doesn’t mean every year will be warmer than the last. And it may be that we are in a period of less rapid warming.”

Yeah riiiight!
